I have been so busy working on getting those novels published that I really haven't been able to paint. And to be honest, after the disaster in Chicago, I had no desire to paint. I didn't want to look at a mini or pick up a paint brush. But, gradually, I've been throwing off the slump and am getting the drive back. I've also had problems with my vision, so I need to take care of that first. I'm going to try to separate writing and mini painting but sometimes that can get crazy. The blog I have going on Blogspot will probably concentrate mostly on writing and I'll see about linking the mini painting articles over there, to the blog I have here. I've also got to set up my kathrynloch.com domain. So we shall see how it goes!
A friend of mine has released the first miniature in a brand new line. Check it out here!
I posted the first video in a series on how to paint with dry pigments. Check it out! More to come!

My apologies, I've been slacking on updating the website. I'm working to get Reaper pre-orders up so if anyone is interesting in ordering Reaper Miniatures (I am a retailer and can many times meet or beat competitors pricing) please sign up as a Member of this website. I'm working to have a contact form for the various pre-orders but a couple of the widgets I have access to are freaking out and just mucking up the whole system. As soon as the developers get those bugs worked out, we should have something coherent.
We are working diligently to improve our website and provide you with a great experience with the hobby we love.
Miniature gaming and painting is enjoyable for a great variety of people. Many hobbyists enjoy the strategy and tactics of playing, the camaraderie, technical details, the list is endless.
Many others love the artistic side. Painting these tiny, highly detailed miniatures can be quite challenging. But there are rewards, financial, renown, industrial, professional for those who persevere and master various skills. The art of terrain making and diorama creation is also another challenging aspect.
While some enjoy one aspect over the other, there are many who enjoy all. I am one of those.
Who am I? I am known online as Kathryn Loch, I'll put up a brief bio about me hopefully soon. But I am the artist and owner of War Horse Miniatures. As with all start-up businesses, they succeed only when the owner toils behind the scenes. Brand new businesses, like brand new babies are fragile and require many sleepless nights.
It takes awhile but eventually the business grows (and becomes a rebellious teenager - but that won't happen for awhile yet, so I have a bit of time). Right now I am working to establish this company and let people know what all we have going.
Well, as you might have gathered from the word Studios in the name. War Horse Miniatures paints. I do commission painting an eBay sales and I've also been known to accept offers. So if you see something you like as a work in progress, let me know! If it's practical and possible, I'll try to notify you before it goes up for auction. I can't guarantee anything but hey - it doesn't hurt to email me and ask. I'll certainly do my best!
